My Holiday Washbag!

Hey Dolls,

This week I thought I’d tell you what I take in my holiday wash bag to help you guys out if you have a holiday coming up!

washbag

Right lets start with with facial skincare:face

I took minis of all my usual Liz Earle skin care which was great as it saved space and made packing what I needed super easy. I also took a mini Micellar water to remove my makeup and clean my face at the end of each day to freshen up as I find makeup wipes dry out my skin. To keep my lips from cracking in the heat I took my lush lip scrub in mint julips which I use all the time and love it! My eyes also get dry after flying so I always take an eye spray.

hair

Next onto hair! As well as what is pictured above I took a bottle of Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturising Shampoo and Conditioner. Back to what actually was still in the wash bag! Everyone knows if you have long hair the sun and heat makes it so dry! To solve this one I took one of my fave brands Mark Hills Miracoilous Moroccan Argan Oil, smells amazing and works a treat.

Next up is Charles Worthington Sunshine Protector Salt Spray, this was great for leaving my hair to dry naturally into beachy waves and it also has some protection for your hair against sun damage.

Two Tresemme products were in my case, the mini heat protection spray which I used when I wanted to curl my hair. The second was the mini hairspray, I have always loved this hairspray as it gives great hold and brushes out easily without leaving your hair feeling sticky.

Finally for hair was my new favourite Dry Bar Detox Dry Shampoo, love this product! Well worth the hype and is fab for the in between hair wash freshen up!

random washbag

The final few bits in my washbag are a bit random! Toothpaste obviously an essential, some Voltarol because its always good to have a Venus Snap razor perfect for travelling as it keeps it clean and stops the moisture bars getting stuck to everything else in your bag! The final thing is the Sonic electric toothbrush which is so good and perfect for travelling!

Hope this helps you when packing!

My Favourite Lip Glosses!

Hey Dolls,

This weeks post is a short and sweet one! As we are now in spring and getting close to summer I thought I’d share with you my favourite glosses we can all start stepping away from the Matte lips!

These aren’t in  any particular order, so let’s she what made the cut!

IMG_7775

First up is a nude gloss from Charlott tilbury, I love her lipgloss formulas as they aren’t sticky or too glossy so they are great for a more natural look. The first of 2 that are in my favourites is “Seduction” a lovely browny pink nude.

Next is one of 2 YSL Tint in a Oil glosses that I love! This is a super glossy, moisturising formula and works as a tint as well as a nourishing lip iref colour is in no 5 which is a bright pink, but as it’s an oil the colour is quite sheer making it very wearable.

Now is the second Charlotte Tilbury shade in the colour “Portobello Girl” this beautiful pink has gold shimmer running through making it a perfect accompaniment to any make up look.

The final brand duplication is the second YSL shade in the colour no 4. This is a much paler pink which works great for those no makeup days when you still want something more than a lip balm on your lips.

Now for my 2 high end lipgloss faves which I personally think are definitely worth the little bit extra money. My all time favourite gloss is Marc Jacobs “Some Girls” the colour is beautiful, the formula is great it’s not sticky at all and is long lasting and the pigment is fab! I definitely want to purchase a few more shades as I loveeee this lip gloss!

My final lip gloss is one from Burberry, I was gifted this gloss for my birthday and I love it. It’s not as glossy as the Marc jacobs ones which makes it perfect for topping off a matte lip or for the days when you want something inbeteeen a gloss and Matte lipstick! I have the colour “Nude Beige no 17” and use it in 3 different ways: over mac whirl or velvet teddy for a little bit extra oomph, on its own or with a nude lip liner to create super pouty lips!

NYC Haul!

Hey Dolls,

This week is my New York Haul after my trip last week (sorry for missing post I was exploring and shopping)

This Haul is from Sephora and Bath&Body Works, so let’s get started!

First up Sephora, this was my first trip to a store and OMG I was in heaven! I also was already signed up as a beauty insider and luckily got a 10% off code to use when I was there! I went with a list otherwise I knew I would go way over budget!

Every girl loves dry shampoo so I wanted to try Dry detox after hearing rave reviews, luckily this was the only thing the from ‘fly’ zone that ended up in my basket. As Tarte isn’t available in the U.K. I knew I wanted to get a palette. I chose the Amazonian Clay Matte one as it has beautiful colours!

Moving onto lips! I purchased a Tarte lip paint in ‘so fetch’ as I have heard nothing but good things and thought the colour would be perfect for summer! I also picked up the Bite Beauty ‘The Perfect Pair” minis in the shades meringue and fig.

As I was at Sephora it would be rude not to pick up a selection of their own brand masks! I chose 2 lip masks, 2 eye masks and 2 face masks as I love them and they are great value for money!

Bath and Body works was next and of course I couldn’t resist the pocketbacs, as they are great value and smell amazing! I picked up Maui, Magic in the Air, Need Vacay, You are my sunshine and Cucumber Melon. They are so convenient, I love them! My final purchase was a 3 wick candle with this super cute copper lid in the scent ‘white beach sands’ not only does it smell amazing but all their 3 wicks had $10 off! If I had any spare room in my case I definitely would have bought a few more!

I’ll be doing a review of the eyeshadow palette and lipsticks soon so look out for that!  I’m back in the US in September so if anyone has any beauty faves they recommend let me know!

Simple Summer Makeup

Hey Dolls,

Today I’m going to give you the lowdown on my simple quick summer makeup to give you that natural glow. This look takes me 5-10 minutes and I’m done.

So first comes the base, I start with Clarins Beauty Flash Balm all over my face after moisturising to not only give my makeup a base but also give me a healthy glow, if you wanted to create a look with more coverage you could add a BB cream or light weight foundation but I don’t. Next up I use a Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to buff Chanel Soleil Tan cream bronzer to give that bronzed summer goddess look. Before I conceal and set my face I apply a cream highlight two I have been loving are the Topshop Glow Pot and Collection Speedy Highlight Chubby Stick, the reason I do this before concealer is because my concealer creases fast because of the way my eyes are and cream products always look better before any powder is applied.

Now the only part of this look that gives coverage is the concealer, I use Nars Creamy Concealer in ‘Vanilla’ under my eyes to make me look more awake, as well as on my eyelid to form a base for eyeshadow and ‘Custard’ on any spots or redness as it is a similar colour to my skin. I blend the concealer out with a damp Beauty Blender to make sure there is no caking and then set my entire face with the Laura Mercier Loose setting powder in ‘Translucent’ avoiding the highlight because we do not wanna dull that glow!

The final part of this look is eyes and lips, so let’s finish off! For my eyes I use any shimmery shade from the Bobbi Brown Deluxe Lip and Eye kit, all the shades are super pretty and I just apply it all over my lid with any brush, I then curl my lashes using the Shu Umera lash curlers (the best ones I’ve ever used in my life, so worth the price tag!!) and apply Benefit’s Roller Lash or They’re Real Mascara. Time for brows- for my brows I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer in ‘Soft Brown’ and focus on the tail and arch to give a more natural look and then I use the spoolie on the other end to brush the product through the front of my brow, setting them with Benefit Gimme Brow (now in different packaging since their brow relaunch) and applying the lights shimmer shade from the same palette to my brow bone. For lips I use my ride or die lip balm- Elizabeth Arden 8Hour Lip Treatment and for a natural look the Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector in the colour ’05’.

Final step is to set the look with whatever setting spray I’m using at the time and you are good to go!

Remember darlings don’t let anyone dull your sparkle!
