10 Most used Holiday Beauty Products!

Hey Dolls,

After returning from Spain I thought I’d give you a run down of the products I used the most.

First up skincare: After a long day in the sun its important to rehydrate your skin and for the past 2 years I’ve been loving the ‘Garnier Amber Solaire After Sun with Aloe Vera’. Its super cooling and dries quickly but leaves your skin feeling hydrated and it also helps prevent peeling and prolonging your tan.

The second product I have recently discovered has very quickly become one of my favourites. On holiday I always get dry feet due to the heat and the cream I have been loving is ‘L’Occitane Creme Pieds dry skin Foot Cream’. It has Shea butter in which helps to keep your feet soft and hydrated. I definitely think this was worth the luxury price tag.

My final most used skin care product is a cult classic that I never travel without and that is the ‘Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream’. This is the only think that stops my lips drying out and is also great for dry hands, definitely should be a staple in everyones suitcase!

Next up Makeup Face Base: Holiday or no holiday the one primer that comes with me wherever I go is of course ‘Too Faced Hangover’ you guys know how much I love this product so I’m not going to go on about it haha!

Another favourite of mine is the ‘Garnier BB Cream’, I much prefer using a BB cream on holiday than foundation as it is much lighter and foundation is just too much when its 30+ degrees! This BB cream gives just the right amount of coverage and a lovely natural finish.

An oldie but a goodie is ‘Benefit Hello Flawless Powder’ it adds a lovely bit of extra coverage without turning your face super matte which I definitely don’t want on holiday.

Final product is a new one, ‘Rimmel Good to Glow Highlighter in Soho Glow’ this highlight gives a lovely bronze glow to the cheeks and is also great to mix into primer or my BB cream for that extra summer glow.

Finally is eyes and lips: I took the ‘Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette’ as it has a lovely range of mattes and shimmers and I always go for warm eyes on holiday and this pallette has some lovely warm browns, definitely a cult classic.

My second product in this category is ‘Tom Ford Lip Colour in 22 Patrick’. Ok I know this is definitely a luxury splurge product but oh my god I adore this colour and the formula and just everything about it! Tom Ford definitely knows how to create summer lip colours.

My final product which has to go on holiday is ‘Urban Decay All Nighter Spray’ no make up is gonna move from your face once you’ve sprayed this all over it!

My Holiday Washbag!

Hey Dolls,

This week I thought I’d tell you what I take in my holiday wash bag to help you guys out if you have a holiday coming up!

washbag

Right lets start with with facial skincare:face

I took minis of all my usual Liz Earle skin care which was great as it saved space and made packing what I needed super easy. I also took a mini Micellar water to remove my makeup and clean my face at the end of each day to freshen up as I find makeup wipes dry out my skin. To keep my lips from cracking in the heat I took my lush lip scrub in mint julips which I use all the time and love it! My eyes also get dry after flying so I always take an eye spray.

hair

Next onto hair! As well as what is pictured above I took a bottle of Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturising Shampoo and Conditioner. Back to what actually was still in the wash bag! Everyone knows if you have long hair the sun and heat makes it so dry! To solve this one I took one of my fave brands Mark Hills Miracoilous Moroccan Argan Oil, smells amazing and works a treat.

Next up is Charles Worthington Sunshine Protector Salt Spray, this was great for leaving my hair to dry naturally into beachy waves and it also has some protection for your hair against sun damage.

Two Tresemme products were in my case, the mini heat protection spray which I used when I wanted to curl my hair. The second was the mini hairspray, I have always loved this hairspray as it gives great hold and brushes out easily without leaving your hair feeling sticky.

Finally for hair was my new favourite Dry Bar Detox Dry Shampoo, love this product! Well worth the hype and is fab for the in between hair wash freshen up!

random washbag

The final few bits in my washbag are a bit random! Toothpaste obviously an essential, some Voltarol because its always good to have a Venus Snap razor perfect for travelling as it keeps it clean and stops the moisture bars getting stuck to everything else in your bag! The final thing is the Sonic electric toothbrush which is so good and perfect for travelling!

Hope this helps you when packing!

First up is this Khaki Midi dress from Misguided! I love this dress because it isn’t revealing but is still super flattering due to the criss cross detail on the top. I also love the suede effect fabric!

My 1st Year at Uni: Social Life!

Hey Dolls,

This week is part 3 of my uni life series! The third part is all about university social life from societies to nights out!

I can honestly say I have met the best group of friends ever at uni, the friends you make at uni will become your second family and believe me you will spend so much time with that they will feel like your family! Shoutout to my squad for getting me through first year!

IMG_7180

At uni I have a tonne of stories including a couple of trips to A&E with my little welsh bombshell! First trip to A&E with Lish was when she got bottled, that was quite scary but looking back on it now we find it funny! 7 1/2hrs in A&E on a Friday night can actually be quite entertaining!

IMG_7262

We have had many a drunken night out including a night out dressed as cowgirls which resulted in Caprice and I lasting in the club for a total of 13 minutes! Surely that has to be a record! Haha!

IMG_6587

Not only will you have crazy nights out with your best friends, you will most likely join a society like I did! I absolutely adore my Acapella family and this year would not have been the same without them! I would definitely say through yourself into uni societies because you will meet a tonne of different people.

IMG_7844.JPG

Societies also give you the opportunity to meet 2nd and 3rd years (hello uni advice and friends who know what they are doing!) Shoutout to my Acapella mum Hannah and fellow Essex girl Sophie for being fab the past year! Uni will also give you the opportunity to support people as they grow in confidence (we turned Hazel into a drinker haha)

First year of uni has been absolutely amazing and wouldn’t have been the same without all the amazing people that DMU have bought into my life, I love you all and roll on second year!!

My 1st Year at Uni: Academic life!

Hey dolls,

This week is all about what academic life is like at university and I can honestly tell you it’s so different to A Levels and sixth form.

The first main different is the way you are taught, instead of small class rooms you will have lectures in huge rooms of up to around 200 students. This can be quite intimidating at first but just remember everyone is in the same position as you and you will soon get used to it. To supplement your studies you will also most likely have tutorials or seminars, these are in small groups of up to 20 in class rooms where you ask questions and do group activities.

Assessments are different too! Just like sixth form they will probably be a mix of exams and coursework. In your assignments you will get less support that previously which can be worrying but there are plenty of people around to help for example the library. In your assignments you will also be required to reference, this is a pain but you soon get used to it!

IMG_7462

At DMU, we are also given a range of global opportunities through #DMUGlobal. This year I went to New York with my course and did some work with fashion brands as well as exploring an amazing city.

IMG_7642

You also make great friends through your course, mine being Carolyn and Jordan who I went to NYC with. These two have been fab and have always been there when I’ve had a silly little question or needed some motivation! We all motivate each other and I don’t think this year would have been the same without them!

If anyone has any questions about uni drop them in the comments and I will answer then for you the best I can!

Next week is all about uni life in general with some stories for you!
